Emotion is a good spur, but once people are primed to travel, how do companies differentiate themselves? Why should I travel Virgin instead of British, or stay at the Fairmont instead of the Ritz? Pure emotion works for iPods because Apple doesn't have any credible competitors in the mp3 market. But once people start comparison shopping, the price tag starts to matter.
